MBP C650V to make its debut in the Malaysian market?

The MBP C650V is a modern ride with a retro twist and the numbers say it is much more powerful than a Harley-Davidson.

MBP (Moto Bologna Passione) is a new motorcycle brand established in 2022 by Keeway Motor Group, which is also a subsidiary of QJ Motor.

MBP is an Italian brand as it is based in Bologna, Italy but with a manufacturing plant in China. This is to ensure that the price of the motorcycle would be much more affordable.

Despite being newly established, MBP already has a wide range of models starting ranging from125cc to 1002cc. Last year, MBP stole the spotlight by launching cruiser motorcycles, namely the MBP C650V and C1002V as well as the T1002V adventure model.

The launch of the C650V took the limelight due to its aggressive yet modern design. It features retro elements like Harley-Davidson.

The MBP C650V appears more ‘sporty’ and aggressive compared to the Harley-Davidson Iron 883. The design of the tank is matched with the ‘air funnel’ on the left and right sides.

The C650V comes with 16-inch thick tires and is fielded with wire-spoked rims. Interestingly, the suspension package features a USD-type front fork from Kayaba and twin rear shock absorbers also from Kayaba.

The brake system consists of axial brake callipers (twins) from Nissin which are matched with 300mm front and 240mm (single) rear brake discs. This C650V is also equipped with dual-channel ABS.

The MBP C650V is more powerful than the Harley-Davidson Iron 883. Its 647cc V-Twin engine is capable of producing 68.4hp and 61Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission and offers a liquid cooling system.

There is a possibility that this C650V will also be available in Malaysia. MBP is likely to penetrate the Malaysian market through an official distributor, which will be announced later.
