Triumph has reintroduced the Tiger Sport 660 for the local market under a new distributor with a selling price starting from RM50,900.

Featuring the same 660cc three-cylinder engine found on the Trident 660, the Tiger Sport features elements of a ‘sport tourer’ motorcycle while offering practical and versatile features.

This new model will also compete against Modenas Versys 650 and Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT in Malaysia.

The Tiger Sport 660 is capable of producing 79hp at 10,250rpm and 64Nm at 6,250rpm. Triumph claims that riders are able to feet 90 per cent of torque as early as 3,600rpm.

Also taking on from the Trident, this model comes with two riding modes, Rain and Road. It also features a Ride-by-Wire system with a 6-speed transmission and the assist/slipper clutch feature.

The braking system is controlled by dual-channel ABS. It comes with two-piston front Nissin brake callipers along with 310mm front and 255mm rear brake discs.

However, riders are not able to switch off the ABS system.

Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia is also holding a Merdeka promotion in tandem with the sale of the bike. The promotion allows Tiger Sport 660 owners to enjoy the official accessory package (worth RM9,542) with an additional RM5,900 only.
