In a bold statement, Toma accused Dorna of attempting to oust CryptoDATA from the championship, suggesting creative contract maneuvers. The statement, at times childishly defiant, expressed disbelief at Dorna’s actions and questioned the unwritten rules guiding the championship.
Despite having a contract with IRTA and Dorna until 2026, CryptoDATA now finds itself without MotoGP slots. This leaves their racing company, valued only through these contracts, seemingly worthless. The MotoGP Selection Committee, in charge of allocating MotoGP places, remains resolute. Teams like Pramac and Tech3, part of MotoGP since 2002, showcase the endurance of those following motorsport rules.
Despite the accusations, CryptoDATA’s reality is precarious. The 1.5 million euro naming rights deal for the Austrian GP, secured with Dorna, hangs in the balance. Adding complexity, the Austrian GP contract involves “EAI Technologies,” while RNF Racing’s shares belong to “CDT SPORTS AND MEDIA SRL,” leaving CryptoDATA entangled in legal intricacies.
