The video shrouded in mystery with subdued lighting and black bodywork, subtly reveals key aspects, notably the three-cylinder configuration of the bike.
The teaser video subtly confirms the Triumph Daytona 660’s three-cylinder configuration through a brief soundbite. This aligns with earlier speculations based on images released last year. The new Daytona might share the same engine as the Tiger Sport 660 and Trident 660. This is evident from the ‘660’ decal in previous images. We can anticipate an impressive 80bhp power output and 47 lb-ft of torque. The output is then fine-tuned with a customized throttle map for a unique riding experience.
Triumph’s decision to revive the Daytona name in the 660cc form marks a significant move into the competitive middleweight sports bike market. Although the teaser video and accompanying social media posts may not directly reference the model name, a closer look into the HTML code of the Triumph website unveils the hidden gem – the bike’s official name, Daytona 660. This discovery adds an extra layer of excitement for fans eagerly awaiting the official unveiling.
The decision to re-enter the middleweight sports bike segment positions Triumph against formidable competitors such as the Suzuki GSX-8R and Honda CBR650. The Triumph Daytona 660 will be making a bold statement in this highly contested market. Enthusiasts are also buzzing about the speculated Honda CBR750R, though not officially announced.
