Husqvarna enters the world of electric mobility with the E-Pilen Concept. Here are the details!

Husqvarna E-Pilen Concept

In September 2020, we came across a few rumours revolving around Husqvarna’s plans of developing an electric scooter and a full-sized “E-Pilen” motorcycle.  Following this, in December 2020, CEO Stefan Pierer gave out a few details of the electric motors that Husky’s parent company, Pierer Mobility AG was collaborating on with Bajaj for their upcoming zero-emissions product range. Well, just 4 months into 2021, Husqvarna has just officially pulled the cover off one of the electric bikes in concept form. Meet Husky’s first electric motorcycle, the E-Pilen concept!

Husqvarna E-Pilen Concept

Inspired by the Vitpilen and Svartpilen, the electric E-Pilen concept gives us a preview of the Swedish brand’s future vision. Judging from the dynamic design of the E-Pilen, the 8kw power output and the 100km range, it’s clear Husky has developed the E-Pilen Concept with both Urban commuting and leisure riding in mind. Taking a look at the battery,  Husqvarna says the “modular swappable battery” system on the E-Pilen concept allows the power pack to be exchanged, which further extends the appeal and utility of the brand’s electric motorcycle.

As the E-Pilen is still in the development stage, Husky hasn’t released any in-depth details of the powertrain or any other mechanical components. However, the brand promises to reveal further details in the near future.

As for the launch, the production-ready Husqvarna E-Pilen is expected to roll out in 2022. Having said that, we think Husqvarna making a move into the world of electric mobility is a bold move for the brand. With KTM on the side, we just can’t wait to know more about PMAG’s plans for the upcoming years!
