Bajaj Auto recently announced that it will be introducing electric vehicles by 2020. Considering that electric motorcycles are on demand and is one of the blossoming sectors of the two-wheeler industry, the Indian firm will be making premium electric bikes under the new brand “Urbanite”.
According to Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj, Bajaj Auto will “aim to do a Tesla in the electric two-wheeler space”. Not to mention, the recent partnership of Bajaj and Triumph Motorcycles have induced developments of mid-range capacity motorcycles.
Bajaj Auto is mainly focusing on its electric vehicle (EV) plan and is aiming for a very successful outcome from the Urbanite brand. With brands such as KTM and Zero Motorcycles hitting the top notch of the sector, can Bajaj achieve its aims and flourish?
