Petronas signs new three-year deal with MotoGP

Malaysian oil and gas giant have signed today a new three-year deal with MotoGP promoters Dorna, with Petronas now linked to the Thailand and Malaysian GP’s until the end of the 2020 season.

Petronas extends their presence at each of these two rounds by having more trackside advertising in Sepang and Chang circuits, which will create better brand awareness to the millions of MotoGP fans that watch these races.

Involved in this sport since early 2000’s, Petronas have already in place a sports project in the Moto3 Junior World Championship, Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP class, where the company will be the main sponsor of the first fully fledged Malaysian MotoGP team, the SIC-Petronas Yamaha outfit that will make its first appearance next season.

Petronas will be a headline act at two of the biggest and busiest events of the season when MotoGP goes racing at Buriram for the first time ever from the 5th to 7th October, before returning to Malaysia from the 2nd to 4th November for another sellout event at Sepang.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
