Should we expect a special version of the Suzuki GSX-R1000R?

Special versions of mass-produced superbikes have been the latest trend for most motorcycle manufacturers, and from the Yamaha R1M up to the Ducati 1299 Superleggera or BMW HP4 Race, there’s a motorcycle to please everyone.

And now it seems Suzuki is trying to get a piece of the cake for themselves, with Suzuki Italy teasing a carbon dressed GSX-R1000R.

Using their Facebook page, Suzuki Italy posted this very tantalizing photo of the front of the new version of the famous GSX-R1000R, in which we can clearly see the carbon fiber fairing, the racing screen, the absence of mirrors and the use of protection for the brake and clutch levers. This makes us wonder if the teased GSX-R1000R will be a road-legal model or a track edition only.

Along with the teaser photo, Suzuki Italy also used the hashtags #spotted, #staytuned, #motogp and #2019 , and this is also a clue to the possibility that this new superbike will be unveiled very soon, probably during this weekend’s MotoGP race in Misano.
