MotoGP – Lorenzo is in doubt for the Japan GP

Jorge Lorenzo is already at the Twin Ring Motegi where next weekend the MotoGP is back in action for the Japan GP. The Spanish rider, who suffered a massive highside during the Thailand GP, visited the MotoGP doctors to find out if he is given the green light to compete, but the results showed that Lorenzo’s injury is worse than expected.

Lorenzo passed the physical tests and received green light to compete in Motegi, but the truth of the matter is that the Ducati rider isn’t feeing any better than he was two weeks ago.

The exam done at Motegi showed that Lorenzo’s left wrist fracture is bigger than initially thought, and even if he battles through the pain using pain killers, he could make the fracture worse due to the big effort on the wrist while braking

“Unfortunately my feelings aren’t that good. I’ve seen another scan, two weeks after the one I did in Thailand, and in this one we can see another view of the fracture. The pain is similar, it hasn’t changed much, and according to the movements i do it gets too painful. I’m not worried about the pain, but the risk of making the injury worse is too big. I’ll try the bike tomorrow. I don’t expect to feel good, but I have to try”, said Jorge Lorenzo after visiting the MotoGP doctors.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
