The start of 2019 brought us a lot of surprises as new models keep coming our way. Just recently, news of Indian Motorcycle trademarking ‘Renegade’ hinted that a new model might be on the way and joining the bandwagon is Kawasaki as the firm just trademarked the name “Meguro”. Meguro Manufacturing Company made its debut in 1924 as an engine manufacturer and after that, the firm had delved into motorcycles as a transmission supplier for certain manufacturers. In 1932 the firm launched its first bike, which was a 500cc built for Hamakura Motor. Meguro motorcycle then came to life five years later. There is no doubt that Meguro is one of Japan’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer.

Kawasaki Aircraft and Meguro motorcycles merged in the early 60s to form Kawasaki Motorcycles. Its first bike, the Kawasaki W1, made by 1965, featured the biggest engine in a production bike at that time, namely the Meguro design of K1, an authorised copy of the BSA A7. Meguro is definitely one of the reasons Kawasaki blossomed today. Speculations stated that the Kawasaki Meguro could be a vintage-looking bike with a middle-size displacement.
