Every now and then, we hear crazy stories involving motorcycles, but this one, from England, must be one of the craziest stories we’ve heard in a long time! In Wiltshire, the Police has seized and impounded a 5-tonne tractor.

For those of you that find this normal, because it is, every vehicle on the road can be subject to Police pulling over for inspection, the real story is that the tractor was seized and then impounded because its driver was using it to drag race motorcycles!

According to local newspapers, the tractor, that usually is seen on a farm, was caught racing on public roads and using a non-legal fuel to power up the 175 hp engine, enough to move the weight of the tractor to great speeds and racing motorcycles.

The local Police also found out that the driver of the tractor couldn’t show any proof that the tractor had valid insurance, and that was another reason that led them to impound the vehicle.

The tractor involved in this crazy drag racing story is a New Holland 175 tractor, and though it weighs more than 5 tonnes, a witness has described the tractor as “pretty nippy”.

Do you want to take a guess as to who won the drag race: The tractor or the motorcycles?

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
