French tech company NAWA Technologies is not in the business of building electric motorcycles. In fact, they build batteries. But this does not stop the firm from creating its first electric motorcycle– the NAWA Racer. The bike is full of intense technologies and amazing features.

In its collaboration with Envisage Group, the NAWA Racer comes with minimalistic styling. Envisage Group has worked with Jaguar and several other brands. Some of the main features of the bike include its hubless rear wheel, wrap-around LED taillight and duck-tailed seat.

NAWA has included the supercapacitor to the Racer (or ultracapacitor- NAWACap).

It is similar to a battery except for the fact that it can be charged in seconds. It can also dump that charge at an extremely high rate. This is way better than a battery considering its immediate boost of power. Other firms that have put a supercapacitor into service is top supercar manufacturer Lamborghini with their new Sián hypercar.

The Racer comes with a small 9kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and a .1kWh NAWACap ultracapacitor located in the upper pod above the pack in the frame. It comes with multiple advantages. It can be charged in seconds by regenerative braking (preferably) or the Li-ion battery (or both). NAWA claims the racer can go 0-60 in about three seconds with a top speed of about 100 miles an hour. It is capable of producing approximately 100 horsepower.

The Racer weighs in at about 330 pounds which is way lighter than the other electric motorcycles in the industry. This improves handling and performance of the bike. The NAWACap system also extends the urban range of the Racer since the motor has to push less weight around.

Much more work is being put into making sure the supercapacitors can withstand longer time in order to improve performance. With more bikes like the Racer, it is certainly able to garner the likes of many riders.
