Cleveland CycleWerks co-founder Scott Colosimo has been coming up with lightweight and affordable gas-powered motorcycles for more than a decade. This time, the firm is ready to make a change by introducing a new e-mobility platform called The Falcon, on March 20, at the Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum.

According to Colosimo, who is a professor and graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Art Transportation Design, he promises that most bike lovers will be impressed with the unveiling. Albeit the lack of information and the surprise element, many are already anticipating the new platform.

“Instead of just a motorcycle, we have an entire tech platform we’re launching,” he says as quoted from Fresh Water Cleveland. “To the consumer, it’s an e-motorcycle.”

The Falcon converts from an electric bicycle to a motorcycle.

“This vehicle grows with the customer. If you want an electric bicycle, we can lock the system down so it’s just an e-bicycle. If you don’t care and you do have a full [motorcycle] license, it can be a full motorcycle.”

Currently, there are two models in the initial Falcon design, namely the Falcon 01 and the Falcon BLK. Both the bikes are Bluetooth-enabled and take up to an hour and a half to fully charge the bike.

Manufacturing of the motorcycles will take place in Cleveland. It will consist of predominantly local partners, with a total of over 20 manufacturers joining hands.

“The vast majority are in Ohio. This is a Cleveland-centric vehicle. It’s about supporting Cleveland, giving [the city] manufacturing jobs and tech jobs. I think Cleveland’s future is in manufacturing and integrating technology into manufacturing. Now is the time to start focusing on Cleveland.”

Not to mention, CycleWerks aim to keep the bikes within an affordable price range. The first release models will sell for $7,000 to $15,000.
