First Look: Langen Two Stroke – 250cc V-Twin Two-Stroke Engine, 75 hp!

Announced earlier in July, the Langen Two Stroke will make its first debut this week. Here is a sneak preview of the bike to get you up to speed before the official launch.

Langen Two Stroke

Due to stricter emission regulations, motorcycle manufacturers are constantly on the run to develop engines that comply with the emission rules. Due to manufacturers switching to four-stroke engines because of emission regulations, the good old two strokers are almost forgotten. Well, it’s not the case with folks from Langen. Based in UK, Langen focuses on building custom bikes and their latest creation is a two-stroke motorcycle called the “Two Stroke”. Ex-CCM Chief Design Engineer Christofer Ratcliffe, aka Langen, started the project back in 2019. With the bike complete, the official launch is set to take place in Blenheim Palace from the 23rd – 26th September 2020.

We haven’t seen any two-strokers from manufacturers for quite some time now. The Two Stroke from Langen is definitely here to make a statement and to break boundaries which we can’t wait to see. We think Langen has done a tremendous job in picking out the right cafe racer theme to suit the character of the bike and we love it!

Langen Two Stroke Specification

Without drooling over the bike too much, let’s get into the specifications and details. So you guys might be wondering how Langen managed to pull this off, well, Langen seems to have passed the emission tests with a modern fuel injection system, electronic exhaust valves and ECU controlled oil injection.

Speaking of the engine, although the bike is British, the V-Twin mill is Italian. The 250cc V-Twin mill is the same engine used in Vins Duecinquanta 250 sportbike from Italy. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox; the 249.5cc 90º V-twin engine pushes 75 bhp at 11,700 rpm and a peak torque of 45 Nm at 11,700 rpm.

Moving onto the chassis and bodywork, the sleek cafe racer bodywork is wrapped around an aluminium space frame. As for the bodywork, everything from the fuel tank to the fairings and a few other engine components are made out of carbon fibre.

Thanks to extensive carbon fibre parts all around the bike and the lightweight engine, the Two-Stroke weights only 114kg! In fact, the power to weight ratio of the bike is 660 hp/tonne! Aside from this, Langen claims the bike can hit a top speed of 140mph+ / 225 kmph+.

Wondering about the flashy gold “paint”? Well, the gold accent isn’t just mediocre gold paint, the details are put in place using 24-carat gold leaf detailing!

Moving onto the suspension; Ohlins 43 mm ‘Right way up’ forks at the front and Twin shock bespoke Ktech Piggyback Razors at the rear takes care of the business. Braking duties are done by  320 mm twin double discs with twin HEL radial billet callipers up front and  265 mm disc with HEL radial billet calliper at the rear.

Langen Two Stroke Price

Wondering how much the Langen Two Stroke costs? Well, only 100 units of Two Stroke would be ever built! and each one of them come with a  £28,000/ USD 35,900 / MYR 148,700 pricetag!
