2021 Ninja Team Green Cup
Earlier in March 2020, Kawasaki showcased the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R Racer custom model and announced an incoming Japan-exclusive Ninja ZX-25R one-make race series for 2021. Back then Kawasaki didn’t announce the details of the event. However, with the year 2020 almost coming to an end, Kawasaki now officially launches the one-make race series.
The one-make race event is called the 2021 Ninja Team Green Cup and it is exclusive for ZX-25R owners in Japan. The purpose of this event is for ZX-25R owners to make the most out of their bike on the race track. It’s somewhat similar to the Honda CBR250RR Race Support Programme offered here in Malaysia. However, in the case of Malaysia, the CBR250RR bikes that are used in the series are strictly not for road use but in the case of Japan’s Ninja Team Green Cup, the riders who compete in the series use their own road-legal ZX-25R street machine.
To compete in Ninja Team Green Cup, first, you would have to buy the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R. Following this, you would have to attend the “KAZE circuit meeting” for a brief circuit run before preparing racing gears and joining the Ninja Team Green Trial. Kawasaki says after the trial, the riders would have to apply for FJ Freshman license before preparing the machine for Ninja Team Green Cup and taking part in it.
The Ninja Team Green Cup will take place in three circuits: Suzuka Circuit, Twin Ring Motegi and SPA Naoiri in Japan. As mentioned earlier, for now, the event is going to be held in Japan only. However, sources suggest the event would soon make its way into other countries once the ZX-25R gets launched locally.

It’s interesting to see motorcycle manufactures opening up ways to allow their consumers make full use of their bikes. Track focused race programmes like these also ensure a safer spirited ride.
