Judging from the teaser post and the leaked images from some time ago, it looks like it’s an all-new moped that’s next in line to be launched. In case you missed the buzz, there have been numerous reports on the arrival of a “big bore” Benelli “super moped” for some time now. Benelli recently trademarked for the name “Benelli R18i” which closely falls in line with the brand’s 150cc “RFS 150i” sports moped. Although the R18i would more likely fall in the same moped family as the RFS, the numbers stated within the name hint at a bigger machine. To be exact a super moped with a 180cc engine.

Earlier rumours from 2019

Besides this, going back to 2019 there have also been rumours on the arrival of a 200 cc super moped as well.  Back then reports claimed Benelli was working on a super moped code-named “RFS200” specifically for the Malaysian market.  The “RFS200” was rumoured to make use of a 200cc parallel-twin engine. Yes, you heard that right, a 200cc parallel-twin mill! Well, if things don’t go down with the R18i, this could be another outcome. Well, for now, only time will tell.
