Will the Triumph Daytona 675 officially vanish ahead of Moto2?

Triumph will making headlines within these few years as the firm will become the engine supplier for Moto2 in 2019.

This brings to the topic of Daytona 675 as the bike will cease in making appearance in the UK dealer showrooms during 2018 considering that it is unable to meet the Euro4 compliance.

With the above statement, will the Daytona be gone forever? Will Triumph not build a new Daytona for the Moto2?

“The emotional desire is there for the product, but it’s getting it over the business threshold that’s the hard part,” says Paul Lilly, General Manager of Triumph Motorcycles in the UK.

“Are we actively in production with something to come out next year called the Daytona? Honestly, no,” said Triumph’s Head of Brand Management, Miles Perkins.

“Is there a longer-term opportunity for it? Yes, there is.”

“If we could prove the demand, then of course we’ll do it,” said Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer.

“With the excitement we have around Moto2, we would be foolish not to consider it as a possibility.”
