Harley-Davidson just released its full year sales results for 2017 and the outcome was rather disheartening and the firm attributed the drop to the lack of demand from millennials,

However, Harley-Davidson is not the only brand struggling with this issue as most large capacity manufacturers are aware of the fact that the younger generation are not that interested in motorcycles.

The firm plans to address the issue by “redefining its product in traditional spaces and expanding into new spaces”. To do that, it has announced the sale of its new electric Harley within 18 months but the looks or the price of it is yet to be known.

Departing from its forte of big choppers, the electric bike seems to take the brand one step further and shows how much Harley wants to engage with the younger riders and to provide them with something they would like.

“The EV motorcycle market is in its infancy today, but we believe premium Harley-Davidson electric motorcycles will help drive excitement and participation in the sport globally. As we expand our EV capabilities and commitment, we get even more excited about the role electric motorcycles will play in growing our business.” Said Matt Levatich, H-D President and CEO.
