Eric Buell returns with electric brand VanguardSpark

VanguardSpark teases the two electric vehicles in development

He is one of those names that we can’t dissociate from the motorcycling world, and this time around he’s back with more energy than ever. Literally!

Eric Buell is back on our radar with the news that he started a new motorcycle company called VanguardSpark. Together with two other founders, François-Xavier Terny from Vanguard Motorcycles and Frédéric Vasseur of Spark Racing Technology, Eric Buell has his eyes set on the electric motorcycles business.

VanguardSpark electric motorcycles will be, for sure, something special given the fact that all three founding members are known for their innovative ideas.

At the moment the company only released sketches for two of their products: an electric motorcycle and also an electric bicycle.

VanguardSparks electric motorcycle concept called Commuter

Even though the e-bike is interesting, the real interest comes in the form of the electric bike dubbed Commuter. VanguardSpark calls it “a nimble and practical two-wheeler perfectly adapted to urban environments and capable of 150+kms before recharging”.

Under all the futuristic design from the Commuter, VanguardSpark surely has a lot of new technologies and the company says that it’s waiting for four patent applications on this bike, before the first prototypes start rolling this Summer from the factory headquarters in New York.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
