Carl Fogarty joins CCM to create a special Spitfire

Better known for his feats on the racetrack, legendary British racer Carl Fogarty has also worked with many different motorcycle manufacturers to develop their bikes. But now, and after a stint as Triumph motorcycles ambassador, Fogarty has joined British bespoke motorcycle brand CCM in order to present a very special customized motorcycle.

Out of the partnership, the CCM Spitfire Foggy Edition was born, and CCM says that only 300 of these will be built. Actually, it will be 301 examples of the CCM Spitfire Foggy Edition since Carl Fogarty will have one for his personal collection.

This special Foggy Edition is built around the platform of the CCM Spitfire, and this means a tubular steel frame which gets a single-cylinder 660 cc engine inside.

As expected on such a premium motorcycle, CCM and Fogarty have opted to use premium components like full carbon fibre bodywork and billet machined aluminium on many of the bike’s components. Gold frame and wheels make a great contrast with the red paint, while the customized under seat exhaust will surely make the CCM Spitfire Foggy Edition sound just like a race bike.

HEL supplied the custom made brake callipers with King Carl logo on them, while the 17’’ wheels are forged in aluminium, and the suspension is supplied by Marzocchi and K-Tech in the back, fully adjustable on both ends of course.

And if this isn’t enough for you, then you’ll be happy to know that CCM will allow the customers to choose either a flat track style handlebar or a cafe racer one.

The Spitfire Foggy Edition is in the final phase of development, with Carl Fogarty testing the bike before CCM starts to build the first of the 300 units. The price, well, we don’t know how much CCM will ask you to spend on one of these beauties, but having Carl Fogarty linked to the model and is built in such a limited run, expect to pay a lot!

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
